Known as "la Lepra," the Mendoza club waited 112 years to play in the Copa Libertadores for the first time, qualifying by winning the 2025 Copa Argentina. On their debut, in the 2026 group stage, they beat Fluminense 2-1 away at the Maracanã — the first-ever win by a Mendoza club on Brazilian soil.
