Founded in 2008 as Real Garcilaso, the club reached Peru's top flight in just two years after winning the 2011 Copa Perú — one of the country's fastest rises. As Real Garcilaso they reached the 2013 Libertadores quarterfinals, still their best continental run, before rebranding as Cusco FC in 2019.
